Blake Hahn Rolls Top Five At Timberline With ASCS Red River

SAPULPA, Okla. (October 11, 2016) Timberline Speedway was this past weekend’s racing destination for Blake Hahn, as the Lucas Oil/Griffith Truck and Equipment No. 52 rolled to the season’s 19th top-five finish.
“We weren’t quite as good as we were the last time we raced Timberline, but overall it was a good night,” stated Hahn of the fifth place performance. “We experimented with our setup a little bit and tried some different things with our shocks. With it being a regional show, it gives us a chance to try things we might be able to use on the National Tour.”
Winning his Heat Race, Hahn was in the redraw where he drew the fifth starting spot. Racing hard with Johnny Herrera throughout the feature event, the pair traded the fourth spot several times before Herrera was able to lock the position down.
“The track was really slick early so you could counter a slide job and that’s where Johnny and I got to racing, but once the track narrowed around the bottom, you had to wait for someone to make a mistake, and Johnny doesn’t make those very often.”
Next on the docket for Hahn is the 43rd Devil’s Bowl Winter Nationals at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas on Friday, October 14 and Saturday, October 15. For Hahn, the race weekend is one of tribute to Lanny Edwards, who along with Blake’s grandfather, Emmett Hahn, founded the Chili Bowl Nationals.
“I grew up around the Edwards family so Lanny was like another grandpa to me, and to a lot of my family really. It would mean the world to me to be able to win at “The Bowl” this weekend.”
