Entry Lists Released for Short Track U.S. Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway

BRISTOL, Tenn. (March 27, 2017) – The sanctioning bodies for the upcoming Short Track U.S. Nationals released their entry lists today.

The highly-anticipated signature event, May 19-21, will showcase the world’s best short track racers competing for the first time on the high-banks of the World’s Fastest Half-Mile, one of the most famous short tracks in the world.
More than 500 race cars split among the six classes are expected to be in competition during the three-day event, including racing in Super Late Model, Pro/Crate Late Model, Late Model Stock, Modified, Street Stock and Compact. The five sanctioning bodies that will be represented are CRA (Super Late Models, Pro Late Models, Street Stock), CARS Tour (Super Late Models, Late Model Stock), Southern Super Series (Super Late Model), National Short Track Alliance (Modifieds), VORES Compact Touring Series (Compacts).

Officials from Bristol Motor Speedway previously informed the sanctioning bodies for the Short Track U. S. Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway presented by Vore's Welding that there will be a limit to the number of participants for the events on May 19-21. Early interest and entries revealed to officials that the projections for numbers of participants have been exceeded for every division. With large numbers and limited hours in the day, track officials want to make sure that their participants are fairly served. The posted schedule of events is very tight, and expanding the numbers of participants beyond those established below does not seem possible. Based on the number of entries in each division to date, the following are the maximum number of participants in each division:

Super Late Models – 80
Pro/Crate Late Models – 80
Late Model Stocks - 60
Modifieds – 80
Street Stocks – 110
Compacts – 110

Racers that have previously entered but have since decided they will not be able to compete should contact their sanctioning body to have their name removed from the entry list.

The entry lists are closed for all but two divisions that exceed the mandated participation limits. There are still a few spots left in the Late Model Stocks and JEGS/Pro Late Models. Interested participants should contact their respective sanctioning bodies directly to fill those remaining spots. Officials reserve the right to re-open any entry list at a later date.

For the divisions that have entry lists that exceed the participation limits, priority will be given to the teams that have raced previously with the sanctioning bodies in 2017, and if necessary, more priority for more races run. Date of entry will be used as a determining factor for participation for those who did not compete with the sanctioning bodies prior to the Bristol event.

Hoosier Racing Tire, in conjunction with the sanction bodies, will be making an announcement on the tires and their requirements later this week.
