SSP Set For Spring Challenge Doubleheader; Racing Saturday And Sunday

Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park will be back in action for two nights of racing during Memorial Day Weekend. The Banks Bullring will host the annual Spring Challenge and features the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, Bridgeport Logistics Street Stocks, Northwest Dwarfs, as well as Open, Restricted, and 1200cc Micro Sprints. The Dwarfs will be a non-point affair both events due to being a last minute edition to the card.
Bubba Foster and Clark Tenney have managed to be the only two winners in the Budweiser IMCA Modified division. Both drivers have won one main event a piece. Both the Open and Restricted Micro divisions have had a single race but has produced the same winner as Colby Thornhill was able to get the trophy in both main events.
The Dwarf Cars had a massive car count last weekend with Ryan Martinez getting the victory for what is their only race of 2017 so far. Although this weekend is non-points it still should bring out a good crop of cars and produce some excellent racing. The 1200’s have not ran all year and believe it or not this weekend marks the first race of the season for the Bridgeport Logistics Street Stocks.
Both races the Pit Gates open at 1:00 PM, Front Gates 3:00, with Racing kicking off at 5:30. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, and Children (5 and Under) are FREE. A Family Pass (Two Adults and up to four Youths) is offered for $35.00 while Premium Seats are available for $25.00 each. For more information log on to www.sunsetspeedwaypark.com.
