Bryan Hulbert – SELINSGROVE, Penn. (May 8, 2018) Making his first starts at Williams Grove Speedway and Selinsgrove Speedway with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com, Blake Hahn ended his weekend with a tenth-place finish at Selinsgrove Speedway.

“The whole weekend was a huge learning experience. We struggled to get going at Williams Grove and finally did hit on something in the feature, but the track just got to where if you missed the bottom, you were going to get passed. Selinsgrove we were better. We weren’t great, but we found a better balance in the car and really, with the level of competition we had, I was happy to come out with a tenth-place finish,” commented Hahn of the overall experience at the two Pennsylvania half-miles.

Through Heats and Qualifiers on Friday night, Blake was unable to race through the B-Feature. Forced to utilize a provisional, the Griffith Truck and Equipment No. 52 took off from the 23rd starting spot where he was able to maneuver to a 16th place finish.

“I wish we would have run better at Williams Grove. It just seemed like no matter what we did to the car, it just wouldn’t grab the track. After the B-Main, we threw anything we could think of at it and it got a little better, but I really hope we get to race there again. It such a unique layout with the long straightaways and tight corners that it really challenges you.”

Racing directly to the A-Feature at Selinsgrove Speedway, Hahn qualified for the 14th position through the Heat and Qualifier efforts.

“We were better at Selinsgrove. Getting to 10th and being able to hold onto it was big for us to be able to improve on the weekend and stay close in the points.”

Sitting fifth, only 67 points back from point’s leader Seth Bergman, Hahn will have a busy week with Humboldt Speedway on Wednesday, May 9, then Lakeside Speedway on Thursday, May 10, and finally I-30 Speedway on Saturday, May 12.

“I feel really good going into these next three races. We won at Humboldt last year with the Red River Region, and we should have won at Lakeside a couple years ago. I-30 has been good to us in the past, so I feel like we should be in contention all week.”

The 2018 season is Blake Hahn’s 16th year of racing. Starting in Jr. Sprints at the Tulsa Shootout, Hahn has progressed through the ranks with over 90 victories across Micros, Midgets, and Sprint Cars.
