LONG, SNELLENBERGER & RADDANT RISE TO THE TOP AT LUXEMBURG

(Luxemburg, WI) August 3, 2018 Race Report:

There was a shakeup in the IMCA Stock Car standings as point leader Eric Arneson was caught up in an early crash sending him behind the wall. Brett Wenzel paced the first 7 laps of the main until Larry Karcz Jr. came to call on lap 8. Karcz was dogged by Rod Snellenberger at the midway point. Snellenberger was able to slip by for the lead on the 12th lap. Karcz kept the pressure on but in the end, it was Snellenberger with a clean sweep, while Karcz had to settle for second. Wenzel was third, Dave Bouche took fourth and with a fifth-place finish Shawn Havel took over the points lead. Havel leads Arneson by 10 points with only two point nights remaining.

In the IMCA Modified action it was Jimmy Berkevich setting a blistering pace on the cushion early in the feature. After starting 7th Josh Long quickly burst through the field, racing to the runner-up position. Long set his sights on Berkevich, taking over the top spot on lap 11. Long quickly distanced himself from the field to score his first feature win of the season. Rookie Jacob Zellner had his best run of the season to place second, Berkevich also scored his best run of the season with third, Russ Reinwald took fourth and Shawn Kilogre completed the top five. Kilgore holds a 17 point advantage over Reinwald.

Kyle Raddant has been on a recent hot-streak as of late, winning races at Outagamie Speedway and 141 Speedway in the IMCA Sport Mods. Raddant didn’t slow down at Luxemburg, leading very lap of the main to score a clean sweep. Coming into the night as the co-point leader Lucas Lambries ended the night with a second place finish. Dennis Miesler had a strong third place run, Jeff Vlies took fourth and Sawyer Haese rounded out the top five. Lambries leads Craig Dorner by 7 marks.

Jesse Krahn passed Nick Wunrow with 9 laps remaining to score the win in the Street Stock feature. Point leader Dave Degrave rallied late to bring home a second place finish. Wunrow scored a career best third, Dan Van Pay was fourth and Kevin Hebbe was fifth. DeGrave holds an 8 point edge over Van Pay, while Hebbe sits 9 back of the leader.

After an opening lap crash took out half the field in the IMCA Sport Compacts, TJ Everard took command and never looked back leading every lap of the feature. The win was also a clean sweep. Everard leads DJ Jorgenson by only 1 point.

Luxemburg Speedway is off on August 10. Racing resumes on Friday August 17th for the Van Drisse Racing Hall of Fame night. Races start at 7:00pm
