ASCS Sooner Region Taking on NCRA At Humboldt Before ASCS Mid-South Showdown At Tri-State Speedway
Bryan Hulbert – TULSA, Okla. (April 18, 2019) Readying for a weekend run through Kansas and Oklahoma, the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products will take on Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan. with NCRA on Friday, April 19 and Tri-State Speedway on Saturday, April 20 in Pocola, Okla. with the Stealth Recovery ASCS Mid-South Region.
Both nights of action offer a $2,000 to win, $300 to start A-Feature.
Seth Bergman has assumed the top spot in the overall points with the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products by 36 markers with Sean McClelland in hot pursuit in the D&E Supply No. 22. A rebound from the season opener when McClelland took a ride at I-30 Speedway, McClelland rolls into this weekend off a podium run at Creek County Speedway. Blake Hahn holds third with Grady Chandler and Kyle Clark making the top five in tour standings.
The season’s lone trip to Humboldt Speedway for the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products, last year’s visit with the former ASCS Red River Region saw a nail biter of a finish between Jonathan Cornell and Mike Goodman with Cornell edging the Oklahoma racer by inches at the line.
Friday, April 19 at Humboldt Speedway opens at 6:00 P.M. with racing getting underway at 8:00 P.M. (CT). Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for kids 6-12. Visiting Tri-State Speedway in June 2018 the night’s events were topped by Sam Hafertepe, Jr. The defending Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour Champion is slated to be in action at Knoxville Raceway this weekend. This Saturday’s action is co-sanctioned with the Stealth Recovery ASCS Mid-South Region. Three-time ASCS National Champion, Tim Crawley, as well as four-time Champion, Terry Gray, are both expected to be in attendance.
Events at Tri-State Speedway are presented by Bravado Wireless and The Mower Shop, Inc. Saturday, April 20 opens at 6:00 P.M. with racing getting underway at 7:00 P.M. (CT). The night’s races include NexGens, Factory Stocks, USRA B-Mods and USRA Modifieds. Tri-State Speedway is located at 1705 W Race Track Rd. in Pocola, Okla.
