Creek Victories Go To McGehee, Esmond, Wilhite, Foltz, and Longacre

Bryan Hulbert – SAPULPA, Okla. (May 30, 2020) Getting the second round of the 2020 weekly racing series in the books this past Saturday night, a field of 95 drivers took on Creek County Speedway. In the end, Corey McGehee, James Esmond, Chris Wilhite, Jr., Michael Longacre, and Chandler Foltz each garnered wins.

For Corey McGehee, Saturday night marked a dream come true as the Claremore, Okla. shoe captured his first career victory behind the wheel of a Sprint Car. Having to outrun wily veteran Danny Smith, the Same Day Auto Repair No. 5$ came close but had to settle for runner-up honors. Tim Kent grabbed third with Jared Sewell marching from 12th to fourth. Kyle Clark completed the top five.

Advancing from 10th, Factory Stock glory went to Chris Wilhite, Jr. with Shawn Brownlee in pursuit at the finish. Seth Romine in third was trailed by Jeff Gerritson and Chris Bales to make up the top five. Mini Stocks saw Michael Longacre in Victory Lane. Kevin McSperitt, Jr. made it to second after starting ninth with Adrien Hickman, Kenny Grumadas, and Justin Melton in tow.

Chandler Foltz topped Dwarf Cars. The second consecutive night of winning for the drive of the No. F4, Foltz made it to the front after starting fifth. Jason Miles grabbed second with Larry Pense, Justin Foltz, and Paul Kaseman, making the top five.

Rushing to the front of the Modified A-Feature, Jason Esmond rolled from fifth to first for his first win of the season. Besting a field 22 strong, Esmond was pursued to the finish by Shayne Bailey, who started 11th. Joe Wright made the final podium step with the top five rounded out by John Paul Larison from 12th, and Tony Cooper from 17th.

Racing action returns on Saturday, June 6 with Modifieds, Factory Stocks, Mini Stock Mania, Junior Mini-Stocks, and Dwarf Cars on the card.

Admission is $10 for adults. Youth 11-14 will are admitted for $6 and kids 10 and under get into the grandstands for free. Pits Passes are $30 (under 10 years of age is $15). Special Event prices will be posted to the Creek County Speedway website, as well as Social Media.

Saturday events open at 5:00 P.M. with Hot Laps at 7:00 P.M. and Racing at 7:30 P.M. (CT).
