Team 6R Racing returns to Indianapolis for "Kroger Speedfest" at Lucas Oil Raceway

After surviving a Terre Haute "dust-out," Team 6R Racing turns their attention toward the .686 mile paved oval at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis for Kroger Speedfest and the JD Byrider 100.

This year, the track will feature a triple-header event to kick-off Speedfest, which includes the USAC Silver Crown, USAC National Midgets, and ARCA series Stock Cars on Thursday night. Friday and Saturday will include events from NASCAR's Camping World Truck series and Nationwide series, in what has been advertised as their final event at the track.

Team 6R Racing has a history at "Raceway Park," as do each of their drivers. In 2006, Brian Tyler won the Silver Crown event for Team 6R Racing, during USAC's stint with the New-Generation pavement cars. Last May, Tanner Swanson won the prestigious "Night Before the 500" Midget event, in just his first attempt at the famed oval. Last July, Kody Swanson picked up the National Midget win during Kroger Speedfest, and was working on becoming the first driver to ever win in two different disciplines at the track on the same night, when he suffered a flat tire while leading the Silver Crown event.

This year, a number of interesting stories will present themselves for Team 6R Racing at the Lucas Oil Raceway event. Marking the 4th event for the Silver Crown season, Tanner Swanson finds himself among the Top 3 in points. Brian Tyler currently sits 7th, but with races in Springfield and DuQuoin still on the schedule, he too is within striking distance of the Championship. This event will also mark the return of Team 6R Racing driver Kody Swanson to the Silver Crown series, who has sat idle since being injured in the May 21st "Hut Hundred" Midget event.
