Sooner Late Models looking forward to Tulsa Speedway opener

by John Rittenoure - TULSA, Okla. (May 24, 2021) - It has been a long time since Late Model stock cars have raced in the Tulsa area. That is about to change when the Complete Well Testing Sooner Late Model Series visits the New Tulsa Speedway on Friday, June 4.

The Sooner Series is excited to be part of opening night for the new high-banked Tulsa Speedway quarter mile oval located on the grounds of Tulsa Raceway Park.

With nine races across four states already in the record books, many CWT Sooner Series competitors are looking forward to racing closer to home.

One of those is 18-year old Hayden Ross of Muskogee. Despite no feature victories to his credit so far this season, Ross leads the points race on the strength on 7 top five finishes. Close behind is three-time defending champion Kip Hughes of Enid with two victories this season. Kaleb Roach of Woodward, Joe Godsey of Edinburgh, Indiana, Enid drivers Dustin Allen and Troy Bynum, Zach Nickell from Harrah, Ada’s Eddie Tidwell, Enid driver Damian Patocka and Adam Popp of Haven, Kansas round out the current top ten.
