RAR 2021 Season Hits Halfway Point With July 10 Firecracker 100

Race number five of the 2021 season is on the docket Saturday July 10. Late models will headline the event with the annual Harper Motors Firecracker 100 highlighting what should be an exciting night of racing action. In addition, the Upstate Bomber Series will join Legends, mini stocks and roadrunners for their only stop at the 3/8-mile paved oval. Following the conclusion of the 100-lap feature will be a fireworks spectacular to celebrate Independence Day.

The COVID-19 pandemic prevented the Firecracker 100 from being run in 2020. The most recent winner of the event is David Henderson who took the victory in 2019. Prior to Henderson’s win, Brandon White had won the previous four Firecracker 100s between 2015 through 2017.

The Upstate Bomber Series will be running its second of four races in 2021 at RAR on the 10th. Local bomber drivers will be competing against drivers from all over Northern California. Last year’s Upstate race at the Acres was won by Dustin Walters of Fortuna. Loren Powers, Jr. won the season opening event for the series at Lakeport Speedway on May 29 and is the current points leader. Trystan Mucci, Mike Collins, Charlie Collins and Charley Tour round out the top five in the standings.

The July 10 race would be exciting between those two divisions alone but with Legends, mini stocks and roadrunners also in action, it’s sure to be a can’t miss event. The post-race fireworks celebration has also been a big hit in the past and is sure to please young and old at the conclusion of the night.

Tickets for the July 10 Harper Motors Firecracker 100 are $10 and will be available at the front gates. Raceway officials highly urge fans to get their tickets before the day of the event to avoid lines and allow for quicker entrance to the grandstands. Tickets can be purchased on the track’s website www.RacinTheAcres.com and are also available at the following local businesses: Automasters and Don’s Rent-All in Eureka, McKinleyville Barber Shop in McKinleyville and JC Auto In Fortuna. Fans are reminded to bring cash as vendors can only accept cash transactions. Grandstands will open at 4:00 PM with racing starting at 5:30 PM. The event will be live streamed on YouTube and RAR’s Facebook page. There will be a test and tune Friday July 9 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
