(Kansas City, Kansas) Kid’s Night at the Races presented by Travelers Protective Association (TPA) and NASCAR Advance Auto Parts weekly series action took place on Friday at Lakeside Speedway. Sixty-four race teams took part in the action, which featured 10 A-Mods, 19 B-Mods, 12 Stock Cars, 7 Pure Stocks, and 16 E-Mods.

Drivers took part in 11 heat races throughout the night as fans witnessed five main events. The next generation of race fans also took part in the festivities with their kid’s night activities featuring various prizes and foot races on the track. By the end of the night, two drivers found themselves in victory lane for the first time this season while some drivers kept steam-rolling the competition.

A-Mod Results (10 Cars)
Another year of domination at Lakeside Speedway is unfolding for Kansan Nic Bidinger in A-Mod competition after he drove to victory in the 15-lap A-Mod main. It was his sixth track victory this season. His ninth top-five in as many outings has led to a 107-point lead over Randal Schiffelbein, Jr., in the championship standings. Justin Johnson turned in an admirable run to the second spot from sixth while Tim Karrick rounded out the top three finishers.

B-Mod Results (19 Cars)
Amid one of the fiercest battles for a track championship, it was a new face in victory lane that took the headlines with pole-sitter Dillon McCowan capturing victory from pole position in his second Lakeside Speeway run this season. It was just McCowan’s second Lakeside Speedway start of the year. Steven Makar and Brian Bolin advanced from fourth and ninth on the grid to round out the podium top three. Meanwhile, championship contenders Mark Schafman finished fourth with Luke Nieman sixth; seven points now separate the two at the top of the standings. Terry Schultz lost valuable points after he was unable to finish the event and is now 69 points back with just a few weeks left.

Ed Griggs also made his second Lakeside Speedway run this season pay off in a big way as he captured his first ‘Racing on the River’s Edge’ victory from pole position. Griggs’ smooth driving kept the championship contenders at bay behind him with Jaylen Wettengel and Kacey Shields finishing second and third. Shields still holds a comfortable 107-point lead over Wettengel for the championship honors.

Pure Stock Results (7 Cars)
Don Marrs kept the pole-sitting winner’s streak going as he picked up his third Pure Stock victory of the season in the 10-lap main event. Championship leader Marshall Jewett finished second and kept his lead intact at the top of the standings by 15 markers over Marrs. Spencer Reiff slipped back to 52 points behind as he was unable to finish the main event. The top three drivers now own three a-main victories apiece.

E-Mod Results (16 Cars)
Trevor Hand was the only driver to capture an a-main on the night from other than the pole position as he advanced from fifth on the grid to ‘hand’ his peers another defeat with his sixth win of the season. Hand’s lead in the championship standings built to 171 points after his closest pursuer Dennis Melvin did not finish the race. Justin Bell wrapped up his best finish of the season in second spot, his fifth top-five run of the year.
