Rose Headed to Physical Therapy, Gravel to Continue Driving for Bill Rose Racing

Inside Line Promotions - HAUBSTADT, Ind. (April 24, 2013) - Bill Rose is back on the mend per doctor's request.

"He said I need to stay out for three or four more weeks," Rose said. "The thing is I didn't get to do physical therapy on the road. Now he's got me on physical therapy and I'm going to do it every day I'm home."

With the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series competing in the Midwest, Rose is able to return to his home in Plainfield, Ind., during the weekdays. He will rehab his left arm, which is healing from being broken during the second race of the season, at PitFit Training in Indianapolis.

While Rose said he likely won't return to the seat until the middle of May, he will continue to have David Gravel race under the Bill Rose Racing banner at least during that span and potentially longer.

"The main thing now is getting it strong again," Rose said. "Right now it's up to me. Since my arm is not right, why take David out of the car when I'm not going to be healthy? And he's running really well."

With Rose sitting out the lone World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series event last weekend - Saturday at Tri-State Speedway - Gravel put together another strong race.

After qualifying second quickest, Gravel finished fifth in his heat race to advance to the dash. He then placed fifth in dash on the high-banked track to start the 40-lap feature on the inside of the third row.

"It was a really good race and he was using his head," Rose said. "We're all really working good together."

Gravel picked up several positions during the event and rocketed into the lead on a late-race restart, which was called back because another driver was deemed to restart too early. Tim Kaeding, who went on to win the race, got the jump on the second attempt and held off Gravel by 0.518 of a second.

"He almost won the race," Rose said. "If it wouldn't have been for the one restart being called back when Jason Sides was called for jumping the start, I don't think Kaeding would have gotten around him. He definitely had a good shot at winning it."

Gravel will compete for Bill Rose Racing with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series this Friday at Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, Okla.
