Junction Motor Speedway Hosts NAPA Auto Parts Outlaw Showdown on Tuesday
Inside Line Promotions - McCOOL JUNCTION, Neb. (Aug. 12, 2013) - It's a quick turnaround for the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series, which invades Junction Motor Speedway on Tuesday for the NAPA Auto Parts Outlaw Showdown after wrapping up the famed Knoxville Nationals on Saturday.
"I've been on both sides of the fence for Knoxville," Joey Saldana said. "When you run really well you just want to get to the next race because you're so excited about racing. When you have a bad Knoxville you just want to move on and do something different. I think it's great having a race that close to Knoxville. It doesn't give you much time to really think about good or bad. It gets you back in the seat."
This marks the second straight season and third trip to the 3/8-mile oval for the premier sprint car series. Brooke Tatnell claimed the inaugural event in 2010 with Donny Schatz winning last season's race at Junction Motor Speedway following a triumph at the Knoxville Nationals the previous weekend.
Schatz earned another win in the big event this season and is heading into the NAPA Auto Parts Outlaw Showdown with clear momentum, along with Saldana and Cody Darrah.
"That's a gem in the rough," Darrah said. "It's a beautiful facility out in the middle of the field. I'm really excited to go there. We seemed to have some speed there last year. It's a really fast joint."
