Inside Line Promotions – SALINA, Okla. (April 8, 2014) – In addition to the electrifying racing, Daryn Pittman has an added reason for his excitement heading into the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series race at Salina Highbanks Speedway on Friday, April 25.

It’s only a 45-minute drive for Pittman to arrive at the fast track, which hosts the lone event for the premier sprint car series in Oklahoma this season.

“I always enjoy going to tracks near Oklahoma,” said Pittman, who hails from Owasso, Okla. “I have a huge fan base out of the Tulsa area. It’s something we look forward to. It was exciting for me to go back and race last year leading the World of Outlaws points and it’ll be just as exciting to go back this year as the defending World of Outlaws champion.”

Pittman, who estimated he will have an extra dozen family and friends in attendance, finished second in both his heat race and the dash before ending the night with a third-place result last year at Salina Highbanks Speedway en route to earning his first career World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series championship.

“I felt like we had a good shot to win the race,” he said. “I started on the front row all night long and just lost the starts and ran second in everything. We were right there.”

Pittman had similar success during the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series debut at Salina Highbanks Speedway in 2011. He won a heat race and placed second in the dash before capping the night with a fourth-place finish in the main event.

Minnesota native Craig Dollansky claimed the feature victory in 2011 and last season.
