Brian Brown – West Coast Swing Begins with Vegas FVP Outlaw Showdown!
(Bill W) March 2, 2015 – The Brian Brown Racing Casey’s General Stores/FVP #21 team is ready to head west with the World of Outlaws. This week finds the team at the FVP Outlaw Showdown Wednesday and Thursday at The Dirt Track in Las Vegas, Nevada, before heading to USA Raceway in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday.
Last year, the trip out west was a little rough for you.
We’re really looking forward to getting to the west coast. We had some bad luck out there last year. We were fast at times too though, especially in Vegas and Tucson.
FVP will be a big part of the west coast trip again starting this week in Las Vegas.
With Wednesday and Thursday being the FVP Outlaw Showdown, we’ll have FVP customers and employees there as well. You always want to run well in front of them, and that makes those events a little different.
You have had some time to regroup after the Winter Heat Showdown at Cocopah Speedway in Yuma, Arizona in January.
Chad (Morgan) and the guys have worked really hard since Yuma. Charlie Garrett, our engine builder, has worked really, really hard as well. We feel we have a package that can contend right out of the box at Vegas, and that’s what we intend to do.
Saturday you go to Tucson. You were fast there last year until the wind took over!
We look at last year at Tucson as a race that got away from us. We were leading the Dash and we had a 60 mile per hour gust that blew the top three or four cars including ours into the fence. That kind of started our downhill spiral of our west coast swing last year.
How are you approaching the next few weeks?
Whatever happened last year, is last year. We’re fine-tuning our program on this trip so we can come out swinging when we get back home.
I know you will have a lot of fans rooting for you this week!
I’m excited that our fans and friends can watch the races in Las Vegas on Dirtvision. We want to do well for everyone. We’re excited for all our partners in 2015, and we’ve added Print Place also. The fact that good people want to be involved with us says a lot of good things about our program. We hope to go out and represent all of them professionally and hopefully, pick up some wins along the way.
