Kevin Swindell Piloting Sprint Car for Roth Motorsports This Weekend in Calistoga with World of Outlaws

Inside Line Promotions – GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (April 9, 2015) – Kevin Swindell will return to Calistoga Speedway this weekend for the first time in a half-dozen years.
Swindell will drive for Roth Motorsports this Saturday and Sunday at Calistoga Speedway in Calistoga, Calif., for the Wine Country Outlaw Showdown with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.
“Tim (Kaeding) already won a race this year in the car,” he said. “Their stuff is definitely good and the big tracks seem to suit me. I haven’t qualified much the last few years so that’ll be something I might have to overcome. It’s just about getting used to ripping a good lap off. I don’t think I’m bad at it, but it makes me nervous because it’s such a big piece of your night.”
Swindell was victorious during his last appearance at the scenic half-mile oval, where he won Night 1 of the Louie Vermeil Classic in 2009.
“This weekend should be good,” he said. “I think we can definitely go in there and compete. It’ll be determined by how quickly we can get the car suited to the way I like it. You never know close or how far away Tim and me are about feeling comfortable. Sometimes it clicks right away and sometimes it takes a night or two. I’m just very thankful to Dennis and Teresa Roth for the opportunity.”
Swindell opened the year on dirt by rallying to record a runner-up result at the Chili Bowl Nationals. It marked his sixth straight season with a top-two finish during the premier midget race.
He finished 11th after being involved in a last-lap incident during his winged sprint car season debut on March 28 at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan.
