Logging Miles!!!

Bristol, WI – May 19, 2015. Bill Balog and the B2 Motorsports team have been logging miles in the month of May making appearances in the states of Missouri, Nebraska, and Iowa. With an off weekend for the National Sprint League the first weekend of May, Bill and the 17B sprinter made the haul down to Pevely, MO to take on the World of Outlaws at the Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55. Thirty-three cars were in attendance and Bill would lay down the 15th fastest lap setting himself up with a pole starting position in the heat. The “Northpole Nightmare” would jump out into the lead and fend off several challenges from Brad Sweet to pick up the victory and head to the dash. With an invert of “3”, Bill would line the 17B sprinter up in the 8th starting position. At the drop of the green he would improve two positions, but the engine would expire after a completed lap ending the team’s night.

The following weekend, the National Sprint League was back in action for Round #2 which started at the Eagle Raceway in Eagle, NE. Bill would qualify 4th quickest of the thirty cars on hand setting himself up with a 6th place starting position in the heat race. Bill would make his way into the 5th position at the start, but bobbled mid-way through the heat dropping him back into the 6th position and out of an automatic transfer to the feature. He regained his composure and would make his way back past Bryan Clauson to finish in the 5th position and transfer into the feature. Bill would draw the #7 pill for the feature redraw lining him up in the 7th starting position. When the feature got underway, Bill quickly made his way forward into the 4th position and had his sight on the leaders. A late race caution set everyone nose to tail. Bill tried to make a move on the restart, but it proved to be wrong as he would slide back to the 7th position, where he would ultimately finish the evening.

The next night, the team made their way east to the “Sprint Car Capital of the World”, the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, IA. With thirty-eight cars on hand, Bill would qualify 7th quickest setting him up with a 5th place starting position in his heat race. Bill would finish where he started in a mostly single file heat race. Bill would draw the pole position for the feature. At the drop of the green, Bill would lead the field for six laps before surrendering it to Wayne Johnson. Bill would slip two more positions a few laps later to 4th where he ran until a lap eighteen caution. Bill would maintain his position once restarted, but the car began to fade and Bill would slip back to finish in the 8th position.

Last weekend, the NSL was to be back in action at the Jacksonville Raceway in Jacksonville, IL, but Mother has other plans as the event was rained out. Bill and the team made the trip back to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday night for a weekly show aboard the Lein Acres #2. Bill would qualify 18th of the thirty cars on hand setting him up to start on the pole of the heat race. Bill would lead the heat race until just past the halfway point when Danny Lasoski made his way by sending Bill to a 2nd place finishing position. Starting 17th in the feature, Bill would charge his way forward to the 8th position, but would slip back late in the twenty lap affair when the tires sealed over after a long caution period and finish in the 12th position.

This weekend, Bill will back aboard the B2 Motorsports #17B for a triple header weekend. It all kicks off with the NSL this Friday, as the team will head to the newly configured Jackson Speedway in Jackson, MN for the Folkens Brothers Trucking, $10,000 to win, Spring Nationals. Then on Saturday night, the team plans to head back to the Knoxville Raceway for another weekly show. The weekend will wrap up in Brandon, SD at the Huset’s Speedway with the NSL. Sunday night’s NSL race is also qualifier race for the DeBerg Triple Crown Challenge.
