Blaney Maneuvers from 23rd to Sixth at Port Royal to Earn World of Outlaws Hard Charger Award

Inside Line Promotions – PORT ROYAL, Pa. (Oct. 27, 2015) – Dale Blaney put on a charge last Saturday at Port Royal Speedway.

Blaney and the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., backed CH Motorsports team overcame a 17th-place qualifying effort to capture their 55th top 10 of the season.

“Every time we were on the track, except for qualifying, we were really fast,” he said. “In hot laps we were really good. We had a different wing on it early to try some stuff and it was really good hot lapping. I think the track slowed down enough it hurt us in qualifying. I was really disappointed there. I wish we had those two laps back.”

Blaney then charged from ninth to fifth place during a heat race to earn a lock-in position into the main event.

“We went back to normal stuff and that was the key,” he said. “We’ve always been really good at Port Royal. We’ve run strong every time we go. We enjoy racing on that track. It was good where you could pass and it was wide and racy.”

That lined the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., sponsored team up on the inside of the 12th row for the feature.

“I felt like we were going to be ok, but you never know how it will play out,” he said. “Starting 23rd you can get bottled up. From the get-go I was able to clear some guys. I started getting runs on guys coming off turn two and sliding them in turns three and four. I knew we were good from the first lap.”

Blaney rallied from his 23rd starting position to post a sixth-place result, which was his eighth top 10 of the season with the Outlaws.

Sunday’s World of Outlaws event at Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, N.Y., was rained out.

The Mainstream Holdings, Inc., backed team will be off this weekend before competing Nov. 5-7 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., for the Bad Boy Buggies World of Outlaws World Finals with the World of Outlaws.
