Inside Line Promotions – PUYALLUP, Wash. (Feb. 29, 2016) – Trey Starks is heading to Las Vegas this week seeking his first career top 10 at the fast track.

Starks will compete on Thursday and Friday at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.

“I really like Las Vegas,” he said. “It’s one of the fastest feeling tracks we go to in terms of the speed of it. It’s a big half mile that races pretty well. You get going really good on it and it provides good racing. I’ve grown to like bigger tracks because it opens things up and allows you to react to things better.”

Starks has scored five career top-20 finishes with the World of Outlaws at the half-mile oval, where he normally kicks off his season. However, this year he opened at the Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown last month at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz.

“Winter Heat didn’t quite go as we wanted, but to be honest a lot of it had to do with some luck and drawing,” he said. “Regardless of how well we ran I think it helped a lot through the offseason for getting ready for now, when we usually start our season. You could call it a test session to see what will work and won’t work. We changed a few things around. I feel pretty good where we’re at. All of our equipment is fresh and will be the best it can be going into these races.”

Following the Las Vegas doubleheader Starks will wrap up this weekend on Sunday at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Ariz., where he will make his debut during the NAPA Desert Shootout.

“In looking at pictures it looks like a pretty cool track and another track where you’ll have some room to race,” he said. “I always look forward to getting to new tracks. You can always learn something from going to different tracks. Each one teaches you something a little different. I really value that experience.”
