Trenca Heading to Selinsgrove and Weedsport This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – CLAY, N.Y. (May 17, 2016) – Joe Trenca is itching for his first top 10 of the season as he returns to action this weekend.

Trenca and Mucci Motorsports will compete on Saturday at Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pa., with the Empire Super Sprints and on Sunday at Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, N.Y., for the Empire State Challenge with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.

“Although our results don’t show it yet we have made some big gains this season,” he said. “We’ve had speed. I just have to put a whole night together. I need to have a good race and close it out with a good feature finish.”

Trenca’s best result of the season – 11th – came at Selinsgrove Speedway earlier this season. He was also running in the top 10 at Selinsgrove Speedway when a flat tire during a caution stopped him on the track moments before a rain storm washed out the race last month.

“We’ve had decent runs there, but haven’t put the full night together,” he said. “I feel confident going into Saturday that we can have a great showing.”

Trenca will then make his season debut with the World of Outlaws on Sunday at Weedsport Speedway, where he was battling for a top five last summer during a 360ci race when he ran out of fuel.

“I think running with a 410ci engine in Pennsylvania a few times this season has helped me a lot,” he said. “Coming to a track that’s close to home is always good. The family doesn’t get to see us race that much. I’m really excited for Sunday. We’re hoping for a really good run.”

Trenca’s career-best World of Outlaws finish is 13th and he is hopeful to better that at Weedsport.

“I strongly believe we can do better than 13th,” he said. “We’re going to race with the Outlaws in New Jersey and North Carolina next week as well so hopefully during this next swing with the Outlaws we can put together a couple of top 10s.”
