Inside Line Promotions – CHICO, Calif. (Sept. 13, 2016) – Jason Sides powered to five top-15 finishes during the final West Coast swing of the season with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.

The action began on Sept. 2 at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., where he qualified 14th quickest and finished sixth in a heat race before advancing from 17th to 12th in the main event.

“The track was a little rough,” he said. “They did the best they could with the amount of rain they had. It was really rough the first night and it was a survival race. The next night was a lot harder and slicker than the night before. It was better racing. There were a couple of holes you had to dodge though.”

Sides returned to the high-banked oval the ensuing night and he timed in 11th quickest, finished fourth in a heat race and again ended 12th in the feature.

The team then ventured to the lone stop in Oregon on Wednesday at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, where Sides qualified third quickest and recorded a runner-up result in a heat race to lock himself into the dash. He placed fifth in the dash before closing the night with a sixth-place finish in the main event.

“The track got really good for the feature,” he said. “We were right on the bottom. I ran fifth the entire race until three laps to go. I ran in behind (Daryn) Pittman and lost the front end and I think that’s what allowed (David) Gravel to catch up. He had a run around the top and got by me so we ended up sixth.”

Sides tackled the Gold Cup last weekend at Silver Dollar Speedway. Racing began on Friday when he qualified 26th quickest, finished seventh in a heat race and drove to third in the Last Chance Showdown to transfer into the back of the main event. He then rallied from 23rd to 14th in the feature.

The doubleheader concluded on Saturday at the quarter-mile oval with Sides timing in 17th quickest before he finished fourth in a heat race and 15th in the main event.

“We were happy to finish the races both nights, load the car up in one piece and get on the road,” he said.

Sides is slated to compete with the World of Outlaws this Wednesday at El Paso County Raceway in Calhan, Colo.; Friday at Clay County Fair Speedway in Spencer, Iowa, for the Arnold Motor Supply Shootout; and Saturday at U.S. 36 Raceway in Osborn, Mo., for the FVP Missouri High-Banked Nationals.
