Inside Line Promotions – ROSSBURG, Ohio (July 18, 2017) – Big Game Motorsports driver Kerry Madsen opened the famed Kings Royal tripleheader by earning his third consecutive World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series feature victory last Thursday at Eldora Speedway.

It marked the first time he has accomplished that feat and the sixth triumph of the season for the Muddy sponsored team.

“We were super fast all weekend,” he said.

Madsen kicked off the weekend on Thursday by qualifying third quickest in his group before he placed second in a heat race. That locked him into the dash, in which the inversion started him on the outside of the front row.

“We had the draw on our side and the track was quick since we had a rain delay early in the night,” he said. “We got by (Brad) Sweet on the start and just tried to hang on. I thought (the dash draw would) be critical, but that we’d be ok. I think we could have started back and won that race.”

Madsen capitalized as he won the dash to start the main event on the pole. He quickly took the lead and maintained the top spot throughout the 30-lap main event even after enduring a nasty cut to his right hand.

“I was getting by lapped cars so well,” he said. “I never got bogged by anybody. As long as you’re passing lapped cars you feel like you’re ok. Then a rock or debris wacked it. It must have been when I was pulling a tear-off. I looked down under yellow and saw my glove was soaked in blood. Those races are way too hard to win to give up a win because you’re in some pain.”

Madsen hung on to score his sixth career World of Outlaws win at Eldora Speedway. He then received six stitches in his hand that night.

The Muddy backed team returned to the half-mile oval on Friday for Round 2. Madsen timed in fifth quickest in his group before winning a heat race to again make a dash. He ended fourth in the dash to start the main event eighth.

“We were really good in the dash and in the A Main,” he said. “I felt like we should have run a podium, but we got held up at the wrong times and could never get free. I had a couple of guys passed and a yellow came out so we had to go back. We were right there all race long.”

Madsen capped the night with a sixth-place finish.

The team wrapped up the weekend on Saturday during the $50,000-to-win Kings Royal. Madsen qualified 15th quickest and he advanced from third to second place in a heat race to start the main event on the inside of the fifth row.

“We were pretty confident because we were fast all weekend,” he said. “It was a different track and we didn’t adapt good enough to the track conditions. We just weren’t good enough. The track was slow and way different than it’d been all weekend. We were just too free.”

Madsen battled around 10th throughout the 40-lap race before he ended 13th.

The Muddy sponsored team will compete this Tuesday at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., for the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup with the World of Outlaws and Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.
