Howard Moore Racing on Last Weeks Results and Whats Ahead
A little race update from last weekend and what’s in store for this weekend:
Last Saturday night I raced in the 410-Winged Sprint car at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, AR with the World of Outlaws for the first time. This was something I have looked forward to since I was probably nine years old. We had 32 cars on hand. At the pill draw I drew in the back for qualifying and was one of the last ones to go out. My times in the hot lap session gave me a little confidence. I qualified 19th which gave me the fifth starting spot in the third heat race. The world of outlaws has their own guidelines which is set apart from a passing point system. Finishing fifth automatically put me in my very first World of Outlaws feature. I started 19th in the feature and was scored 20th. I am not ashamed but yet humbled with my performance. I was in a field of cars that I know are at a higher caliber and I respect that. I feel like I need a little more seat time in the 410 class before hitting the track with them again. Congratulations to Mr. Daryn Pittman on the checkers!
Mr. Mike was able to make the tribute laps in the #6 for his great friend Mr. John McGarvey. I know that meant a lot to him and was glad to see him be able to do it. Mr. John gave a lot to the sport and deserved the respect given in his name Saturday night.
This coming Friday night we will race with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, KY. It will be my first time to race the 3/8-mile oval. Then Saturday night we will make our way over to Tennessee National Raceway in Hohenwald, TN. for an ASCS Mid-South Region show. The last time I raced this track was in April of 2011 in my Micro. I hope everyone is able to come out and have a great time. Right now the weather is looking to be decent.
