Inside Line Promotions – MESQUITE, Texas (April 30, 2018) – Jason Sides is tackling a pair of Midwest races this weekend with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.

Sides will return to Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., on Friday for the first time since 2007 before the weekend wraps up on Saturday at Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, Okla., during the Outlaw Twister Showdown.

“We haven’t raced at Lake Ozark for a long time so it should be a fresh slate for everyone,” he said. “That will make it an even playing field so we’re looking forward to it.”

Sides competed at the bullring in 2005 and 2007, when he recorded his best result of 19th. His top finish at Salina Highbanks Speedway was seventh in 2011.

Sides is coming off a busy weekend in Texas, which began on Thursday at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige. He qualified 14th quickest, placed eighth in a heat race and finished 11th in the qualifier before ending the main event 14th.

“We weren’t very good at Cotton Bowl,” he said. “It’s a small track with long straightaways and short corners. At the end of the day I wasn’t very good. It didn’t help that I hit an infield tire so the steering wasn’t so great the last half of the race.”

The team ventured to Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Friday for the first night of the Texas Outlaw Nationals. Sides timed in seventh quickest before he ended fifth in a heat race.

“We were pretty tight in the heat and we lost two positions,” he said. “That put us back a little bit for the A Main. I freed up a bit for the feature. About 10 laps in the track started getting shiny and everybody moved to the top. We were too free.”

Sides held on for a 16th-place finish.

He wrapped up the weekend on Saturday at Devil’s Bowl Speedway, where he qualified ninth quickest, placed third in a heat race and capped the night with a 13th-place result in the A Main.

“The next night they tilled the bottom and we were a little more prepared for the track in the feature,” he said. “It was an odd weekend because it was wet most of the night, which you don’t get a lot in Texas. We didn’t have the best results, but it was good we got three races in.”
