Inside Line Promotions – HAUBSTADT, Ind. (May 15, 2018) – Jason Sides is Pennsylvania bound for a trio of World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series races if Mother Nature allows.

Sides and the Outlaws will venture to Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown on Wednesday for the Gettysburg Clash before invading Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg for the Morgan Cup. Sides claimed the prestigious Morgan Cup in 2011 and he’s placed 10th during the famed National Open each of the last two years at Williams Grove Speedway.

“You know it’s going to be a tough week of racing when you head to Central Pennsylvania,” he said. “We’ve had some good runs and the key is getting qualified well, which is essentially the key everywhere. Everyone is so even and tough to pass these days you need to set yourself up for success by starting toward the front.”

Sides is coming off a roller coaster weekend, which began last Friday when he hurt an engine during qualifying at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio. He scratched from the remainder of the program.

A fresh engine was what was needed for Saturday when Sides qualified sixth quickest overall before he finished second in a heat race to advance into the dash.

“After the way Friday went we needed to have a solid night on Saturday,” he said. “We got timed in well and did what we needed in the heat to make the dash.”

Unfortunately, Sides drew the second-highest number during the dash draw to start on the inside of the last row. He finished eighth to line up on the outside of the fourth row for the A Main.

“The bottom was good and the top was good,” he said. “It was a pretty racy track. We held our own on the bottom for most of the race.”

A late-race restart cost Sides a couple of positions and he was narrowly edge at the line for a top-10 finish.

The weekend concluded on Sunday at Tri-State Speedway, where Sides timed in 16th quickest in his group during qualifying. He ended ninth in a heat race before advancing from 11th to seventh in the Last Chance Showdown, which was only three positions shy of transferring into the main event.
