The Highs and Lows of Tri State Speedway for Perricone
Jim Perricone and the JBMotorsports 10P sprint car team experienced some highs and lows at Tri State Speedway this past weekend. Night one was with the MOWA 410 Sprints. In heat race action Jeff Swindell flipped wildly in front of Jim and took out another car. On the restart Jim came from 8th to finish 6th and transfer into the A Main. Jim had qualified 20th early and would start in the 20th position. During the 25 lap feature Bob Thompson had the J&J Auto Racing chassis set nicely to run the high side and that was the fast way around the track. Jim was patient and moved from 20th to finish in 11th position. This was Jim's best 410 finish year to date.
Night two had the World of Outlaws invading Tri State Speedway with 43 cars present. Jim had a poor qualifying run and suggested the brakes seemed to be locking up. The team looked at the rear and found the brake mount bolts had fallen out. They worked to put the bolts back in and Jim would line up in the back of Heat 2. Jim started 10th and finished in the same spot just behind Jason Sides making up no ground with a little passing occurring. C Main was up next and Jim would start 7th with his qualifying time. Same results as Jim would finish in 7th as the car got worse with brake issues.
The poor results with the World of Outlaws was figured out to be a left front rotor that was sticking and causing the brake to lock up and making it difficult to drive. Jim did his best but the car was not competitive with this issue.
The team was very happy with Saturday nights MOWA results and showed we can be fast and consistent when things are hitting on all cylinders. The next race for the team will be a weekend in June at Atomic Speedway. The team is set to run the Kings Royal in July and can't wait.
