Inside Line Promotions – WEST FARGO, N.D. (Aug. 20, 2018) – Kerry Madsen guided the Muddy sponsored Big Game Motorsports ride to a pair of podium finishes last weekend in North Dakota.

Madsen tackled a World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series doubleheader beginning on Friday at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, where he qualified third quickest, won a heat race and placed fourth in the dash to line up on the outside of the second row for the 2nd Leg of the Northern Tour A Main.

“I feel like on Friday if we got better restarts we could have possibly won,” he said. “It’s just the way it panned out. Late in the race if you were on the top it was a big disadvantage. On a restart I was second and I tried something and lost a spot. I was trying for the win.”

Madsen’s third-place finish was his 18th top five of the season.

He returned to action on Saturday at Red River Valley Speedway during the Duel in the Dakotas. Madsen qualified 12th quickest before he maneuvered from fourth to second place in a heat race to make the dash.

“We went out late in qualifying and the track dropped off quite a bit,” he said. “It was a good time for when we went out. Then we had a good run in the heat.”

Madsen finished fifth in the dash to start the main event on the inside of the third row.

“It was real important to be on the right part of the track,” he said. “I don’t think we were good enough to win, but it was good to get a podium.”

Madsen picked up a pair of positions in the feature to finish third for the second straight night. It marked his fifth podium finish of the season with the World of Outlaws.

“The competition is so tough,” he said. “If you make a mistake you’ll get swamped. We had a good car both nights and it was a good weekend.”

The Muddy backed team will return to action this Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.
