Parker Price-Miller Fast in NorCal

PETERSEN MEDIA- Though he doesn’t have the results he would like to showcase after two nights in Northern California, Parker Price-Miller is still excited for the speed he as able to showcase during two nights of World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series action.

“We were really fast both nights and it is a bummer to not have the results the team probably should have,” Parker Price-Miller said. “I made a mistake running up front in Chico, CA on Friday night, and on Saturday night we bounced through a hole and knocked a plug wire off while running third. Still some positives to build off of, for sure.”

Making his first ever appearance at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA, Price-Miller would get off to a great start as he timed the Indy Race Parts/HRP Specs/Chalk Stix backed No. 71P machine in third quickest in qualifying time trials.

Picking up a third place finish in heat race, the Kokomo, IN driver moved into the 35-lap feature event where he gridded the field from the ninth starting position. Working his way forward on the ¼ mile bullring, PPM would take a liking to the track during his first visit as he would find himself battling for a spot in the top-five.

On the 20th circuit, the youngster would lose the handle on his machine and spin to a stop as he would officially be credited with a 22nd place finish.

Though the mistake cost him at the end of the race, Price-Miller headed to Stockton, CA feeling confident and it showed as he qualified sixth fastest in time trials.

A great run in his heat saw him fend of Donny Schatz in heat race action to earn the second and final transfer into the DirtVision Fast Pass Dash. Starting and finishing sixth in the Dash, PPM would take the green flag from the third row for the 30-lap feature event.

Though a rough and tumble surface on this night, Parker Price-Miller wouldn’t be phased as he worked his way forward in the opening laps and found himself in the third position and chasing after Logan Schuchart and Shane Stewart.

Holding his own, PPM would feel something go south under the hood of his car on the sixth lap as he coasted to a stop off turn two and drew the yellow flag.

The culprit would be a loose spark plug wire after bouncing through a hole, and it would be a quick fix and allow PPM to restart from the tail end of the field.

Doing what he could from the tail end of the field, Price-Miller closed his weekend out with a 17th place finish.
“We were fast both nights and I have to thank Bernie Stuebgen and Brandon Ikenberry for all of their hard work,” Price-Miller added. “Looking forward to two more bullrings this weekend.”

Price-Miller and his team would like to thank Indy Race Parts, HRP Specs, Chalk Stix, Howard Johnson of Lima, Maxim, Wilwood, and Keizer Wheels for their support in 2019.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts:9, Wins: 0, Top 5’s:0 , Top-10’s: 0 .
