Inside Line Promotions – PERRIS, Calif. (April 2, 2019) – Robbie Price is making headway as he is building his 410ci winged sprint car program.

Price has spent the last few weeks competing with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series during its swing through California, which wrapped up last weekend.

The action began on Friday at Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, where Price qualified sixth quickest overall out of more than 30 competitors.

“Qualifying like that was actually the worst thing to happen to us,” he said. “The track fell off real good and we were the second or third car out so it played out in our favor. However, we were fighting a losing battle the rest of the night, but thankfully we found some stuff with the car. I had no feeling in the front end. We had thought it was something else. Finally after the races we put different stuff in and I think that solved it.”

Price finished eighth in a heat race and 12th in the Last Chance Showdown.

“In the heat I went into the first corner and I got split in every direction,” he said. “I started the corner in third and we exited in fifth. I didn’t get to the top quick enough and made some mistakes. In the LCS I screwed up where I started on the track. I fell back to fifth within two or three laps. We were maintaining for a while, but I slipped off the end of the track in turns three and four.”

Saturday featured an improvement at Perris Auto Speedway during the SoCal Showdown. Price timed in 22nd quickest in qualifying. He placed eighth in a heat race before maneuvering from fifth to second in the Last Chance Showdown to transfer into the back of the main event.

“It was way better,” he said. “We didn’t qualify as well as we would have liked, but the field was fairly close. It was nice to have some confidence in the car. We were a little free early in the A Main. I had been running the top. On a restart I tried the bottom, but at that point the rubber came in on the track. I could feel the right rear tire was starting to go down so I pulled off to keep it from exploding.”

Price is slated to make his debut at USA Raceway in Tucson, Ariz., on Friday during the Wildcat Shootout before competing on Saturday at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Ariz., during the Arizona Desert Shootout with the World of Outlaws.

“I just want to carry momentum,” he said. “We were decent at Las Vegas and Tulare in the 360 deal when we started the season, but then I felt like we struggled for a couple of weeks. We were way better in Perris so hopefully we’re trending in a good direction.”
