Inside Line Promotions – QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. (April 10, 2019) – Mason Daniel drove away from Arizona with many reasons to be confident after scoring his top two career results with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series last weekend.

"I really enjoyed both tracks," he said. "Both tracks were racy, well prepped and stayed in great condition for the races all night. We learned a lot and we showed improvement. Overall, it was a great weekend and the team is happy."

The action began Friday night as Daniel rolled into the pits at USA Raceway in Tucson for the first time in his career. He posted the 15th quickest time in qualifying and he followed that up with a sixth-place run in a heat race. Daniel lined up for the 30-lap main event in the 18th starting position.

"Qualifying is definitely the area I need to improve on the most," he said. "If I can qualify better it will set me up better for the entire night. After the leaders came by I picked up a few things and hung on for about seven laps. I have speed, just need to qualify better."

Daniel posted a World of Outlaws career-best 18th-place result.

The team followed the series to Arizona Speedway on Saturday when Daniel made his debut at the semi-banked oval.

"Having Danny (Lasoski) around really helps," he said. "Every time we roll to a new track chances are pretty good he's won there before. The last time he was in Queen Creek back in 2016 he got second."

That level of knowledge has been instrumental in Daniel’s young 410ci sprint car career, he said. With only 18 races under his belt with the bigger engine, steady improvement is the goal with each lap. Saturday night Daniel showcased that improvement by topping his career-best World of Outlaws finish set the previous night.

A 17th-place qualifying effort kicked off the action. He followed with a seventh-place run in his heat to garner a direct ticket to start 20th in Saturday night’s feature. At the conclusion of 30 laps Daniel clicked off consistent, fast and smooth laps according to the stopwatch. Daniel’s 17th-place finish marked a career best.

"Overall the entire team’s confidence has been boosted," he said. "The stopwatch doesn't lie. Right now it tells us we’re making big gains just like we hoped for. If I can improve on qualifying it would help tremendously and put me in position to earn the results we seek to post."

This weekend Daniel follows the World of Outlaws to Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, for the Texas Outlaw Nationals on Friday and Saturday.

"I'm really excited to get to another track I have never been to," he said. "I can't wait to race on the track where the Outlaws began. There's so much history behind Devil’s Bowl and I've really grown to enjoy half miles."
