Swindell Seeking Trip to Victory Lane This Weekend at Eldora Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (May 6, 2019) – Sammy Swindell will venture to Eldora Speedway this weekend for a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series doubleheader.

The races on Friday and Saturday will mark the first time that Swindell will tackle the high-banked, half-mile oval near Rossburg, Ohio, with Thone Motorsports.

“It’s just putting everything together,” he said. “We haven’t been far off. A lot of times in the practice we’ve been in the top 10 and even the top three. Qualifying is so dominant that sometimes you can’t control that by where you go out. I feel like we’ll be right there. Like every weekend things have to go together and you have to get some breaks.”

Swindell has plenty of experience at Eldora Speedway, where he ranks second on the all-time win’s list during World of Outlaws events. His 21 feature triumphs have occurred in all five decades of the World of Outlaws existence.

“The race track has changed over the years,” he said. “The banking is different than when I first went there, but it’s still a high-speed place and you’re up near the wall a lot of times. I’ve always enjoyed trying to race there and getting the car around there quick.”

Swindell’s most recent win at Eldora Speedway came in July 2014.

Last weekend’s World of Outlaws races at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., and at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind., rained out.
