Jim Perricone
Perricone runs strong at Music City Outlaw Nationals
Perricone started the weekend off strong with a 14th place qualifying run. Bob Thompson had the Mission Linen 10P set up perfect for the tough 1/4 mile bullring. The team would finish the night up strong with a 9th place finish in the B Main. Saturday was looking promising with a good baseline now under the car and a good finish from Friday. Jim would qualify first among the 37 cars on hand for Saturday. Crew Chief Bob Thompson had the Mission Linen, J&J Auto Racing car set up on a rail. During hot laps Jim turned a fast 14.90 lap and the car was on track for a good night. Jim set the opening time of 15.255 which was over a second faster then Friday nights time. The time would hold up for a 22nd qualifying spot among the 37 cars. This allowed the team to start 5th in the B Main for Saturday night after failing to qualify through the heat. The car was strong but would come to a crashing end as Tim Kaeding would spin out and pull a huge wheel stand in turn one. With no place to go, Jim plowed into Tim and flipped him over. Kaeding's car landed on top of the Mission Linen 10P crushing the front and top wing and ending our good run at the Music City Outlaw Nationals. A great effort by Bob Thompson, Caleb Thompson and others in having such a good car prepared for this Nashville event. The teams next event will be the Kings Royal in July.
