Starks Excited Entering National Open This Weekend at Williams Grove

Inside Line Promotions – PUYALLUP, Wash. (Sept. 30, 2019) – Trey Starks returns to Central Pennsylvania this weekend to tackle the Champion Racing Oil National Open.

The Gobrecht Motorsports driver will invade Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg on Friday and Saturday for the marquee World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event.

“We’ve had our fair share of issues during the National Open, but nonetheless I think it’s a good race,” he said. “It suits our style. We tend to qualify well there and that sets up most of your night. If all the stars align I think we’ll have a good weekend.”

Starks was on his way to his career-best National Open last year. He scored a career-best National Open preliminary night result of sixth before mechanical woes ended the night early during the finale.

“If you put yourself ahead to start the night it’s a lot easier to have a good night,” he said. “We’re coming off a weekend off and the previous weekend didn’t go very well. I’d like to see us bounce back and be where we think they should be. I do think we have a chance to run up front if everything goes well. No matter what is going on you can’t count us out.”

Starks proved that last month when he captured his first career win at the famed Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, during a preliminary night for the Knoxville Nationals.

“It gives me confidence that no matter what happens if we do what we’re supposed to and things fall our way we can be up front,” he said.

Starks has scored a feature victory at Williams Grove Speedway during each of the last two years.
