Inside Line Promotions – CONCORD, N.C. (Nov. 11, 2019) – The 2019 season concluded last weekend in North Carolina for Greg Wilson and his Hercules Tires, DNC Hydraulics, Ohio Logistics and Gear Off Road sponsored team.

Wilson invaded The Dirt Track at Charlotte Thursday through Saturday for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series Can-Am World Finals – an event that featured more than 50 of the top competitors from around the country.

“We built a brand new car with a new engine,” he said. “For the first round of qualifying I was pretty tentative. I could have been more aggressive on the engine side and tightened the car up. The second round I felt like we had a pretty good car and we blew a power steering line. We had a part failure; a brand new piece let us down in qualifying. That was pretty much the whole weekend when you time bad.

“Nobody really passed anyone all weekend. It was a typical big race with a lot of good race cars. It’s real easy to be bad and in the same token you’re not that far off to have a good night. After qualifying we just buried ourselves.”

Wilson made progress in the C Main each night, moving from fourth to third on Friday and from eighth to sixth on Saturday.

“Car-wise we learned some stuff and some things that I didn’t agree with, we went ahead and tried it,” he said. “I can see why guys are having success trying those things. A lot of it’s shocks and bump stops. I’ve been stubborn to do some of it because I wasn’t taught that way. The last month and a half we’ve decided to try some of that stuff. Saturday our car was pretty good. We just were marred back where we shouldn’t have been because of qualifying.”
