Inside Line Promotions – BARTLETT, Tenn. (Nov. 16, 2021) – The 2021 season was a roller coaster ride for Jason Sides, who was sidelined for a month and a half when his trailer was damaged after someone ran into it on a highway as he traveled between races.

The incident sidelined the team for 10 races as the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series was transitioning from spring to the hectic summer schedule.

“It was one of those things where between all of that and some struggles on the track it just wasn’t our year,” he said. “Sometimes you think you’re getting it together and then you’ll have a setback. The field is so stout now that anybody can win on any given night. You can’t bury yourselves because each race is filled with so much talent.”

The best result of the season for Sides was a fifth-place showing on July 2 at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis. He also added top 10s at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo.; at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn.; and at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis.

Sides finished 12th in the World of Outlaws championship standings.

“We had some nights where we started out strong, but didn’t have a good showing in the main event and then other nights when we’d finish strong, but we were so buried from early in the night that the end result wasn’t a top 10,” he said. “Our focus is on getting back to being consistently in the top 10 and then going from there.

“I want to thank all of our partners as well as the fans for the support. We didn’t have the best year on and off the track, but we definitely felt supported and we’re grateful for it.”

“Dave Horrell does the jobs that people don’t want to do,” Sides said. “He’s a hard working guy and we’ve been fortunate to have him as part of our team for several years. Dave and his family have become more family than a sponsor. I call him when I just want to talk. His support means a lot.”
