Gravel Tackling World of Outlaws Races at Lincoln and Williams Grove This Week

Inside Line Promotions – WINDOM, Minn. (May 11, 2022) – Big Game Motorsports driver David Gravel is facing a trio of races versus the Pennsylvania Posse this week.

The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series invades The Keystone State on Wednesday for the Duramax Drydene Gettysburg Clash at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pa., and on Friday and Saturday for the Morgan Cup hosted by Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa.

“I attack the week with confidence,” Gravel said. “They are tracks I’m comfortable at and we’ve gone to for so many years you know what to expect. We’ll focus on trying to get a couple of good qualifying laps in and putting ourselves on the front row of our heat race.”

Gravel earned a World of Outlaws win at Lincoln Speedway in 2017. He advanced from ninth to fourth place last year during his lone race at the track with Big Game Motorsports.

“It’s important everywhere nowadays with the competition to start up front,” he said. “It’s all depending on track conditions. Lincoln could be a very racy track or not. If they have it wide with a thin bottom it’s pretty racy.”

Gravel has recorded eight World of Outlaws victories at Williams Grove Speedway. His first occurred in 2014 before scoring a trio of triumphs in 2017 and two in both 2019 and 2020. Gravel produced four top 10s in six World of Outlaws races at the track last year.

“Williams Grove is a unique place and it’s definitely difficult to pass,” he said. “You do everything in your power to make the dash and put yourself in a position for a good run. I’ve been there enough that I know how to pay attention to the track to put ourselves in a good spot.”

Gravel enters this week’s action ranked third in the World of Outlaws championship standings – only 10 points behind second place and 30 points out of the lead.
