Big Game Motorsports and Gravel Rebound for Top 10s in North Dakota and Minnesota

Inside Line Promotions – OGILVIE, Minn. (June 11, 2024) – Big Game Motorsports garnered a pair of top-10 results last weekend.

While the team didn’t score a top five on a racing weekend for the first time this season, the rebound on Friday at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., during the Don Mack Classic was crucial as the team battles for its first World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series championship.

David Gravel qualified 11th quickest and placed third in a heat race to earn the 11th starting position in the main event. He quickly gained a handful of positions to climb into the top 10 before disaster struck. Gravel was caught up in a multiple-car crash that resulted in a broken front end and damaged top and nose wings among other things.

The team scrambled in the pit area to repair the car and Gravel returned to the race at the back of the pack. He then hustled back into the top 10 and used a last-lap pass to secure a 10th-place result.

The team ventured to Ogilvie Raceway on Saturday for the Big ‘O’ Showdown. Gravel qualified seventh quickest and placed third in a heat race. He started the A Main on the inside of the fourth row and battled just outside the top five throughout the race before ending sixth.

Gravel has 23 top 10s in 27 World of Outlaws feature starts this season.

He holds a 10-point lead in the World of Outlaws championship standings entering a doubleheader this Friday and Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.
