Inside Line Promotions – YORK HAVEN, Pa. (April 13, 2016) – Ryan Smith pocketed his fourth top 10 of the season last Sunday at Susquehanna Speedway.

“We were pretty good,” he said. “I got the jump and won the heat race. Unfortunately, we didn’t draw where we needed to draw so we kind of gambled with the race car in the feature.”

Smith, who won his heat race after starting on the outside of the front row, pulled the No. 9 during the random redraw to line up on the inside of the fifth row for the main event.

“We were too tight for the first half of the race,” he said. “It was one of those gambles you take when you’re starting back there. We went backwards the first five laps and then started moving forward. Once the track cleaned off we got better. We needed it to be a 40-lapper rather than 25 laps.”

Smith rallied to post a seventh-place finish.

Teammate Ryan Linder, who flew out from Arizona to compete in the 358 class, also recorded a top 10. Linder ran third for the first half of the feature before a problem with the wing valve hurt the handling on the race car. Linder ended up placing eighth.

“He ran good and had fun and really liked the atmosphere,” Smith said. “It was cool to have him out here.”

Smith has a busy weekend on tap as he will participate in a trio of Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions races. On Friday he will tackle Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, where he won the All Star opener last year, before venturing to Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio, on Saturday and Bedford Speedway in Bedford, Pa., on Sunday.
