Wilson Records Top 10 During Final Race Before All Star Season Starts

Inside Line Promotions – WAYNESFIELD, Ohio (April 9, 2019) – Greg Wilson scored a top-10 result last Sunday during his final start before the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions campaign begins this weekend.

Wilson guided his Hercules Tires, DNC Hydraulics, Ohio Logistics and Gear Off Road sponsored team to a ninth-place run on Sunday at Waynesfield Raceway Park. It marked his third straight top 10.

“We got home and have been feeling like even though we’re running better we’re still not where we need to be,” he said. “We ended up changing some stuff around. There were about six or eight of us from fourth to eleventh racing in a pack together. Nobody could really make any headway, but we were lucky to get it in because of the weather. Shane Helms and the staff did a heck of a job. We were back at our shop and cleaned up by 11:30 p.m. I was pretty impressed with that.

“I think what we’re learning is we need to just change direction. What I mean by that is if you get something that works you trend yourself to that and don’t change quick enough. All the changes we’re making are showing us we need to change our mindset. What we did helped us improve, but we still have to make more changes. The good part is we’re home so this next week will be tough, but after that it will be better.”

Wilson returns as a full-time competitor on the All Star Circuit of Champions tour this year. The action begins with a busy four-race weekend this Thursday at Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Va.; Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa.; Saturday at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa.; and Sunday at Bedford Speedway in Bedford, Pa.

“I think everyone knows that Williams Grove is not one of my favorite places,” he said. “If I could sit on Beer Hill with the gang that’d be a lot of fun, but it’s not a place that I’ve run really well at. The rest of the tracks I’ve had good runs at. Some of the struggles we’re trying to work on, this weekend will be a good test for that. Pennsylvania is the toughest place to race in the country. They have some of the stoutest regulars anywhere so we’ll find out quickly where we need to improve.”
