Wilson Nets Top-10 Finishes at Lincoln Speedway and BAPS Motor Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – YORK HAVEN, Pa. (Aug. 27, 2019) – Greg Wilson recorded back-to-back top-10 results last weekend to wrap up a five-race span in Central Pennsylvania.

Wilson guided his Hercules Tires, DNC Hydraulics, Ohio Logistics and Gear Off Road sponsored team to a ninth-place result on Saturday at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown before he hustled from 16th to eighth on Sunday at BAPS Motor Speedway.

“Any time you can run in the top 10 in Central Pennsylvania you’re doing something,” he said. “I was pleased with the weekend overall.”

The Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions action began on Thursday at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, where Wilson maneuvered from 20th to 16th in the A Main.

“Grandview was cool, but the rain made it to where the track didn’t race as good as I think it would have,” he said. “It was just an okay night. We didn’t have issues and we got some laps in at a track where I had maybe only raced at once when I was a kid.”

Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg hosted twin 20s the following night. Wilson placed 19th and 22nd, respectively.

“We got some really good laps at a track where I’ve always struggled,” he said. “We made the show out of the heat race, which I haven’t done in a long time there. We met the goal to make the main events and get all the laps. To be honest I feel a little more at ease that we have a shot at working on being more competitive when we go back.”

Wilson produced a strong night on Saturday at Lincoln Speedway, where he qualified sixth quickest overall before finishing third in a heat race and ninth in the main event.

“We had some confidence rolling in there since that’s one of our best tracks in Central Pennsylvania,” he said. “We put together a whole night from start to finish. That was a great outing all around versus some tough competition.”

The weekend concluded on Sunday at BAPS Motor Speedway, where Wilson made a great charge during the main event to finish eighth. It marked his 22nd top 10 of the season.

“I had never been there and we changed a lot of stuff on the car between the heat and the feature,” he said. “Something I did we overlooked and we had an issue where I felt like if we didn’t have that we’d have run in the top five. We had a really good race car, but to roll out of there with another top 10, I’m leaving Pennsylvania feeling pretty good about where our team is going.”

Four more All Star races are on tap this weekend with the Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic on Friday and Saturday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, followed by races on Sunday and Monday at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio.

“There will be a lot of cars at the races from here on out,” he said. “I feel like we have an opportunity to win a race at Attica and Wayne County. We’re pretty familiar with those places. The goal is to get a win or two before the end of the year. We’re getting more competitive. We still have our good nights and bad nights like anybody, but we’re getting more consistent. Hopefully we snag a win pretty quick.”

Wilson’s next Hercules Tires dealership visit is Wednesday at United Tire & Service of West Chester in West Chester, Pa., from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
