Inside Line Promotions – ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. (Sept. 21, 2020) – Kerry Madsen scored a trio of top 10s in Central Pennsylvania last weekend.

The Killer Instinct Crossbows supported team has earned a top 10 in seven straight races and during 11 of the last 12 starts, giving Big Game Motorsports 34 top 10s this season.

“Our car is great,” Madsen said. “I feel like if we keep hanging in there and doing what we’re doing it’s going to lead to some wins.”

Madsen made the first of two visits to Lincoln Speedway last Wednesday. He qualified third quickest and finished second in a heat race. That lined the team up on the inside of the fifth row for the A Main.

“On Wednesday we were really good, but we had a mechanical issue in the heat and missed the feature redraw,” he said. “We ran pretty good, but didn’t advance as far as we should in the feature.”

Madsen ended with an eighth-place showing.

The team headed to Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., on Friday for the first of two straight Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 races. Madsen qualified third quickest overall and placed second in his heat race to advance into a dash.

“We were having a good night and drew fourth in a dash,” he said. “We finished there and I thought we were pretty good in the feature, but the track took rubber. I didn’t get as much as I should have at the start before it laid rubber.”

Madsen finished eighth for the second straight night.

The weekend wrapped up on Saturday at Lincoln Speedway for the Dirt Classic. Madsen qualified 19th quickest out of the 50-plus drivers. He then placed third and fifth, respectively, in twin heat races to garner enough points to lock into the 18th starting position in the main event.

“We didn’t qualify as good as we should have and in the second round of heat races we needed to advance,” he said. “We were really good in the A Main. I think we would have got a little further up the pecking order, but it laid rubber so that was that.”

Madsen rallied from 18th to 10th, which earned him the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

“For me, it’s really hard to make up any ground at Lincoln,” he said. “I was really good early so I was pleased with that.”

This is a busy week for the team with races on Tuesday and Wednesday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, during the Governors Reign with the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1. The plan for this weekend is to tackle World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series races on Friday at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio, and Saturday at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., for the Commonwealth Clash.
