Inside Line Promotions – ORRVILLE, Ohio (Sept. 9, 2021) – A pair of solid runs rejuvenated Greg Wilson last weekend.

The Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics and DNC Hydraulics backed driver highlighted the weekend with a charge from 24th to sixth on Saturday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, before nearly guiding Seeling Motorsports to a top-five result on Sunday at Wayne County Speedway.

The weekend began on Friday at Attica Raceway Park during the first night of a FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions doubleheader with Wilson closing the night by advancing from 14th to eighth in the B Main.

“The first night the track was a lot different than we’d seen at Attica,” he said. “It was pretty wet and we didn’t time in well, which has been the issue. We got better in the B Main and passed quite a few cars, but didn’t pass enough to make it.

“We came back on Saturday and didn’t time in very well. In the B Main we got a little bit better and were the last car to transfer into the feature. I felt like the feature could be that turning point that you are looking for. We think we figured some stuff out with the car and then we carried that over to Sunday. That allowed us to time in better, race better and we had good speed.”

Wilson’s hustle from seventh to fourth place in the B Main and from 24th to sixth in the A Main on Saturday proved to be a step forward regarding more than just earning a solid result and the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

“I haven’t had a mechanic in a long time,” he said. “I feel like part of it is trying to develop the communication with Andy (Potter) of what he needs to hear and I need to feel in the adjustments that need to be made. We’ve been okay. Finally on Saturday I opened up a bit and we talked and he thought about what I was saying. He made adjustments off of that and that was a key. On Sunday we started the night off around that mindset.”

Wilson qualified eighth quickest in his group and placed second in a heat race on Sunday at Wayne County Speedway. He lined up on the inside of the fourth row in the A Main and climbed into the top five before a blown power steering line ended the night early.

“We were pretty good,” he said. “That was frustrating that it happened. It must have started leaking because I was getting some oil on my shield. We ran two or three more laps and then it finally came loose.

“Wayne County had some good race cars there. The track was wetter and rougher than normal, but we had tons of speed so that is really encouraging moving forward.”

Wilson plans to return to Attica Raceway Park this Friday before venturing to Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio, on Saturday.
