Tankersley Tackling Debut at Leesville 171 Speedway This Saturday

Inside Line Promotions – HIGHLANDS, Texas (Sept. 3, 2014) – An ASCS Gulf South Region schedule change pushed back an event from last Saturday to this weekend for championship points leader Channin Tankersley.

The debut at Leesville 171 Speedway in Leesville, La., is now slated to be held this Saturday.

“They flooded last week and are probably going to get rained out this week,” Tankersley said. “It rained all week last week and all weekend. It’s rained here every day this week so far. It’s not flooding, but we get a shower for 30 minutes to get everything wet every day.”

In addition to the postponement, an ASCS Gulf South race at Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas, for the middle of September was cancelled. That leaves this Saturday’s race and the Sept. 27 season finale at Battleground Speedway as the only remaining events.

“As long as I can get through this weekend pretty clean we should set ourselves up to be in good shape for the last race,” he said. “That’s what I’m trying to focus on.”

Tankersley holds onto a 109-point advantage in the championship standings entering this Saturday’s event.
