Inside Line Promotions – FORNEY, Texas (March 9, 2015) – Travis Rilat returns to competition this week during the ASCS Gulf South Region season-opening weekend in Texas.

Rilat will invade Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont on Friday and Battleground Speedway in Highlands on Saturday.

“We’ve had a lot of success at both tracks,” he said. “We got our first win of the year out of the way when we won the Tyson Perez Memorial in February in Australia. Now we’re going after our first win in the United States and there’s no better time to do that than this weekend.”

Rilat was victorious at Golden Triangle Raceway Park last year. He took the lead just after the midpoint of the feature and cruised to the triumph.

“The car and the track came to us during that race,” he said. “We made the right decisions on the setup and put ourselves in a good position to capitalize.”

Rilat has been dominant at Battleground Speedway, where he has won each of the past three years. In fact, Rilat has scored three wins, five podiums and six top fives in his last eight races at the track.

“Battleground has been a good track for us the last few years,” he said. “We always feel like we have a great car out of the box. Hopefully we can continue the trend of running up front this weekend and we can make it four straight years with a win there.”

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT – Shark Racing Engines

Located in Sedro-Woolley, Wash., Shark Racing Engines has been building high-performance racing engines for more than two decades. For more information, visit http://www.SharkRacingEngines.com.

“It’s kind of funny how I met (Shark owner) Marc Huson when I went up there to Washington for an ASCS National Tour race and Triple X Race Co. was next door,” Rilat said. “I was wandering around talking on my cell phone and saw a sprint car next door. I walked over, looked around and introduced myself.

“He’s been a great friend. He was instrumental with a support group for me and my family when I was in the hospital up there. He and his wife helped us out in a hard time. As far as his engine skills go, he’s one of the best in the country. There’s only a handful of great engine builders across the country and I consider him one of the best.”

Rilat would also like to thank MDS Boring & Drilling, Shop The BOSS, Triple X Race Components, Weld Wheels, KSE Racing Products, Schoenfeld Headers, Simpson Race Products, Hoosier Racing Tire, HRP Wings, Goodrich, Penske Racing Shocks, All Star Auto Reconditioning, and everyone who has partnered with his No. 29 Triple X.
