Inside Line Promotions – BURLISON, Tenn. (Aug. 18, 2015) – Brandon Hanks is slated to tackle an ASCS Gulf South Region doubleheader this weekend in Texas.
Hanks and his David Smith Racing team will compete on Friday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas, before making his debut at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, on Saturday.
“I enjoyed racing at Heart O’ Texas earlier this season and it’s always fun going to a new track,” he said. “We’ve had some consistent runs with the ASCS Gulf South this season so hopefully we can put together two good nights of racing in Texas.”
Hanks maneuvered from 14th to an eighth-place result in June during his only event this season at Heart O’ Texas Speedway, which is a high-banked bullring.
“The track took rubber so it was pretty hard to pass around there,” he said. “We managed to pick up a half-dozen positions and that was a good night.”
Hanks earned the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars that night.
“It’s always a boost to have had success at a track you are returning to,” he said. “I don’t know much about Cotton Bowl Speedway, but we’ve been running well lately so hopefully we’ll continue that from the time we unload there.”

Located in Burlison, Tenn., D&B Farms is a corn and beans farm owned by the Hanks family.
“It’s a family business so I need to thank my dad, Ricky Huffman and Jason Honeycutt,” Hanks said. “We all work on the farm together. Without them not only would we not be able to race, but we couldn’t make a living.”
Hanks would also like to thank David Smith Racing, Howard’s Auto Plus, Performance Powder Coating, Wesmar Racing Engines, Walls Paint and Body Shop, R.E. Enterprises, Penske Racing Shocks, Acme Graphix, ButlerBuilt Professional Seat Systems, Hinchman Racewear and J-R1 for their continued support.
