Inside Line Promotions – BEAUMONT, Texas (May 10, 2016) – Harli White has been unable to catch a break this season.

Unfortunately, her bad luck continued last weekend in Texas during an ASCS Gulf South Region doubleheader, which began on Friday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco.

White opened the event by winning a heat race after starting on the outside of the front row. That earned her a spot in the feature redraw, where she pulled the No. 3 to start the main event on the inside of the second row.

“I had a car capable of winning,” she said. “I was running second when an incident happened about midway through the feature. A lapped car went up the track to avoid a wreck. I barely jumped their right rear tire. I ended up flipping down the back straightaway.”

White was unable to resume competition and she was credited with an 18th-place result.

The team was forced to rebuild the car prior to Saturday’s event at Golden Triangle Raceway Park, where White was leading a heat race when another incident occurred.

“On a restart going into the first corner my shifter cable fell off so the car jumped out of gear,” she said. “The officials locked the car in gear and I had to go to the back for the restart.”

White placed fourth in the heat race, which relegated her to the B Main. She won the consolation race to transfer into the 16th starting position for the main event.

“On the initial start of the feature I passed a few cars and then a red came out,” she said. “Whenever we went to fire the car back off the car wouldn’t fire. I pulled in and they pushed a few wires in. That worked, but I had to go to the back. After that we went a few laps and my motor locked up on me and then it blew up.”

White’s weekend ended with another DNF as she placed 17th.

“The car was fast all weekend,” she said. “We just didn’t catch a break. We’re happy with how the car has been handling. Hopefully we’ll get the luck part turned around soon.”

White is scheduled to return to competition this Friday and Saturday at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, for the Texas World Dirt Track Championships with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
