Inside Line Promotions – LILLIAN, Texas (Oct. 25, 2017) – Zane Lawrence is already looking forward to what is in store for next year after he produced his career-best season in 2017.

“I know we just finished up this season, but I already feel good going into the next,” he said. “We worked a lot this year on setups and what does and doesn’t work. I also worked on changing my driving style to be a lot more aggressive. Going into next year I feel confident that we will have a pretty good shot at bringing home some wins.”

Lawrence was a full-time competitor and championship contender in two 360ci winged sprint car series – the ASCS Gulf South Region and NCRA Sprint Car Bandits Series – this season. He ended the year ranked second in the ASCS Gulf South Region and third in the NCRA Sprint Car Bandits Series championship standings.

“One way to describe our season is that it was like a roller coaster ride that leveled off toward the end,” he said. “We had really good weekends when we were up front the entire night and contending for wins and then weekends where the pill draw would hurt us and we’d have to fight through the field from further back than we wanted to. But we ended up getting more consistent toward the end of the year, which was good.”

Across his home state of Texas, Lawrence racked up 10 top fives and 19 top 10s, which were both career bests for the 17-year-old. He also picked up a midget win at Boyd Speedway in Boyd, Texas.

“I really like traveling to all these different tracks, which we are looking to do more of next year,” he said. “There were a few places I felt like we should have won or at least were major contenders for the win like at Rose Bowl. I’m definitely looking forward to going back to tracks like that and hopefully pull off the win in 2018.

“I just want to thank all of the sponsors that have helped us this year. Without them it really wouldn’t be possible. Along with all the people that have helped and supported us, family, friends, the team, it wouldn’t have been possible without them either. We’re ready for another good season in 2018.”

Lawrence’s tentative plans for the 2018 season consist of 30-to-35 races in midget, 305ci and 360ci sprint car competition.

SEASON STATS –
