Inside Line Promotions – HIGHLANDS, Texas (Nov. 12, 2019) – The 2019 season featured the lightest schedule Channin Tankersley has ever tackled.

Although the Old School Racing driver only had 16 winged sprint car starts, he made the most of it by earning a trio of victories, nine top fives and 11 top 10s.

“We had a pretty solid year,” he said. “We didn’t race as much as we normally do. For what we did race, whether it was around home or away from home, we were a contender. That was pretty nice. Everything went relatively smooth.”

Tankersley also garnered his fourth ASCS Gulf South Region championship in the last six years. It marked his second straight title and third in the last four years. However, it wasn’t until a win during the season finale that Tankersley secured the championship.

The victory was his second of the season during ASCS Gulf South Region action, giving him at least one win per season during each of the last nine years with the Texas-based series.

Tankersley’s final triumph of the year was his first career with the Sprint Bandits Series during a race that he lapped up to second place.

He also did well on a national stage by scoring the Hard Charger Award during the opening night of the famed Short Track Nationals.

“We had some good moments this year despite not racing a ton,” Tankersley said. “I want to thank Old School Racing for the opportunity along with my dad and crew. We’re hopeful we can do more traveling next year and show up to more big events.”
