Phillips Starting Busy Winged Sprint Car Season This Weekend at Red Dirt Raceway

Inside Line Promotions – BIXBY, Okla. (March 1, 2022) – Elizabeth Phillips is focused on winged sprint car competition this year after making her debut in the division last season.

Phillips aims to run 65 shows, including the entire AmeriFlex OCRS IMCA Sprint Cars schedule.

“We’re hitting some new states and tracks we haven’t been to before,” the 17-year-old said. “We haven’t raced in Texas, Arkansas or South Dakota before. I want to better my racing abilities, hitting as many tracks as we can. We want to race every weekend.

“My goals are I want to make all the races and finish the races. I want to shoot for a top five in OCRS points. I’d be happy with a top five and maybe something better than that if we’re lucky.”

It all begins this Friday and Saturday at Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, Okla., which hosts the OCRS season opener. The event was Phillips’ debut in a winged sprint car one year ago.

“The goal is to make the mains and get those first points in the books,” she said. “If we could knock off a heat race win or two that’d be good. Last year there were a lot cars for the weekend so it’s definitely a tough race, especially with a lot of 305 series not starting until later in March. We want to start the season off good.”

Phillips earned a pair of top-10 finishes during OCRS competition last year.

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT – Rustic Cuff

Rustic Cuff was created in the summer of 2011 by Jill Donovan. Jill’s lifelong obsession with cuffs and a need for a creative outlet turned into so much more. With her days filled with young children and her evenings filled with teaching Law at the University of Tulsa, Jill began teaching herself all aspects of leather making and metal design in her guest bedroom in the middle of the night. Jill’s passion for quality and unique design helped Rustic Cuff to expand from a basic leather cuff line into an entire collection including exotic skins, original designs, and various types of metals. For more information, visit http://www.RusticCuff.com.

“Rustic Cuff makes custom bracelets and necklaces, sports bracelets and more, and we’re working on a line specific to racing,” Phillips said. “Jill’s oldest daughter, Ireland, and I have been friends since we were little kids. They’ve sponsored me for the past nine years and I’m grateful to have them on our side.”

Phillips would also like to thank RibCrib, Classic Chevrolet Owasso, Tulsa Sod & Mulch, Maxima USA, A1 Machine Shop, Dirt Crowd, Best Graphics, Hitch It, Fieldhouse Gear, Sharp Advantage, Eaton Industrial Coatings, Racing Optics, Simpson Race Products, Speed Shack, Car & Fleet and Marshall Chiropractic for their continued support.
