ASCS Northwest Speedweek Fires Off Monday

Stacy Verrall, TULSA, Okla. (July 9, 2010) - It’s summer. It’s super. It’s sizzlin’. It’s the ASCS Northwest’s Super Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek. An army of the best sprint car racers on the west coast will participate in a five night battle starting with Southern Oregon Speedway on July 12th, Willamette Speedway on July 13th, Sunset Speedway on July 14th and ending with an epic two day clash against Lucas Oil ASCS National drivers for the 4th Annual Fred Brownfield Memorial Sprint Challenge at Grays Harbor Raceway on July 16th and 17th. It’s going to be a heat wave of racing excitement, so don’t be left out in the cold. Be there!

With defending ASCS Northwest Champion Roger Crockett currently in first place, former NST Champion Jason Solwold in second, and Seth Bergman who’s dominated this year’s sprint car racing at Grays Harbor Raceway owning third; things are going to get very interesting, especially with racers like Jayme Barnes, Mitch Olson, Henry Van Dam and a slew of new & experienced talent also in the mix.

Interesting is exactly what those present at Cottage Grove Speedway on the July 4th weekend witnessed for themselves. Breath taking three wide exchanges for the lead between Crockett, Solwold and Bergman electrified the non-stop feature race. It was a display verifying the quality and talent brought to the races every time the ASCS Northwest boys (and girl) roll onto the track. Practice holding your breath, because that’s exactly what you’ll be doing when the green flag drops till the checkered flag flies.

And just when you might think the racing action couldn’t possibly get any better, the ASCS National boys will roll into Elma for the final chapter of Speedweek. And what an excellent read it is sure to be. As mentioned earlier, Bergman has dominated the Grays Harbor 3/8 mile this season winning all but one weekly feature. However, ASCS National driver Shane Stewart is no stranger to Grays Harbor Raceway being he’s already claimed a pair of winning trophies from two of three Fred Brownfield Memorial Sprint Challenge events. The one that got away went to fellow ASCS National driver Travis Rilat who will be back to defend his reign as winner of the $10,092.00 prize along with at least 16 other national drivers eager to score a win.

The best in the west will be putting the best to the test. Say that five times fast. Better yet, see what fast looks like five times by joining us for a thrilling week of fun and racing during the ASCS Northwest’s Super Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek.
